Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced surveyor interested in relocating to Kamloops, BC to support construction and pipeline project work. You will conduct a broad range of field surveys including construction layout, topographic, volumetric, and legal. Responsibilities include:

  • Setting up a network of control points to perform survey work during the entire length of the project
  • Staking working widths, centreline, and extra workspaces as specified in drawings
  • Data capturing of pipe as built, pipe tracking, depth of cover, ditch plugs, etc
  • Grade volumes
  • Data reporting on features that may be removed or destroyed during construction, barriers, and bridges
  • Summary reports on pipe tracking including installed, waste, and lost pipe, as well as tracking of each pipe joint

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of construction surveying experience is required
  • Previous pipeline survey experience required
  • Diploma in Geomatics Engineering or Surveying Technology, or equivalent field training
  • Experience using AutoCAD's Civil 3D, Leica Smartworx, and/or LGO platforms is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Technical competence and attention to detail
  • A high level of dependability
  • Willing to work for extended periods in remote areas and/or in a camp-based position
  • A driver’s license is required for this position
  • Attention to safety
  • Candidates must be local or willing to relocate to the Kamloops area
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a criminal background check, pre-employment medical & drug testing, and education verification
