Rotterdam Area

The head office of the Benelux organisation is situated in Breda. The production plants are located in the Rotterdam port area.

• The Rotterdam refinery is one of the most modern and environmentally friendly of its kind. Since being put into operation in 1960, the plant has undergone several renovations. The sizeable capital investments through the years have made the refinery ultra-efficient.
• Officially called the Rotterdam Plasticizers & Intermediates Plant, the Rotterdam Oxo-alcohols Plant actually comprises three production facilities: the Rotterdam Oxo-Alcohol Plant in Europoort, the Phthalic Anhydride Plant and the Rotterdam Plasticizer Plant, which are both located in Rotterdam Botlek. It is the largest producer of plasticizers in Europe.
• The Pernis Lubricant Plant - or Lube Oil Blending Plant - produces various types of engine oil for cars and lubricants for industrial applications.

What role you will play in our team

We are offering a position as Supply Chain Operations Supervisor – Daily operational oversight of the Rotterdam Refinery and Rotterdam Oxo-Alcohol Plant MRO warehouses, including supervision of assigned warehouse staff and personnel.  Stewardship includes the management of storage facilities, onsite and offsite inventories and transaction processes required to support operations.  Primary responsibilities are in support of the site business units strategic priorities:  operational integrity, reliability, efficiency, effectiveness, alignment and people.   

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide leadership in day to day operations through effective communications, coaching, training and developmen
• Ensure effective safety, security and controls performance that meets the global standard 
• Oversight and stewardship of assigned personnel in all aspects of warehouse operations; Goods receiving, issuing, storage, and other basic warehouse functions 
• Ensure warehouse employees are trained and operate consistent with established procedures, controls and Procurement Warehouse Handbook
• Administrative Activities: Timesheet management, Metrics stewardship and reporting, goods/services approvals, controls checks, etc.
• Communicate regularly with the Business Unit Supervisors / Management to assess warehouse performance and develop action plans to continually improve on performance to meet clients objectives
• Represent general Procurement to Payables interests with local Business Unit Management
• Develop and conduct Plant and Procurement Management presentations / communications
• Perform ongoing personnel performance assessment and counseling 
• Manage operating budgets
• Manage compliance of local regulations.
• Special projects as assigned

What you will do

Next to the job duties mentioned above, in this role you will be influencing others without direct authority. You will be the face to the Business Lines for all Spare Parts discussions/challenges/questions, whereas Buying/Contracting/Expediting/Inventory Management activities are done by teams in our GBC’s outside of The Netherlands.

Additional info:

• Close interaction with Supply Chain Operations Supervisor in Belgium, who manages the MRO warehouses at the 3 Manufacturing locations in Belgium: Antwerp Refinery, Antwerp Polymers Plans & Meerhout Polymers Plant
• Regular travel between NL sites and periodic visits to B sites
• Daily interfaces with Prague GBC (Global Business Center), including 1-2 times per year Regional Supply Chain Team meeting in Prague with Regional counterparts
• Periodic alignment with Site Maintenance and Site TA organizations.
• You will report to the Europe Supply Chain Operations Manager, who currently is based in The Netherlands as well

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• Masters degree (e.g. Industrial Engineering & Management Science, Logistics, or equivalent)
• Safety & Controls are key aspects to this role
• Continuous Improvement mindset
• Daily communications in both Dutch and English, so the candidate needs to be fluent in both languages

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated ability to lead people by example and achieve results
• Familiarity with SAP R/3 and general warehousing technologies 
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all organizational levels from Senior Plant Management to Warehouse Operatives
• Must be proficient in Microsoft application skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must have strong analytical skills and controls awareness
• Must be knowledgeable in Warehouse Management / Materials Distribution and Inventory Control requirements / basic standards.
