Position Description

Develops strategy to manage overall sales channel. Plans and guides the work of multiple or large scale sales groups. Creates and implements marketing strategies and sales tactics to achieve budgeted sales, market share, and profit growth goals. Represents the unit to senior leadership of clients, the public, and/or senior management. Engages in strategic planning of the allocation of work in complex business processes. Reports the unit's work to management and manages employee performance and professional development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops plans to meet overall goals for sales, market share, and profit
  • Participates in strategic and long-term planning
  • Maintain annual plans for reaching vertical segment that creates clear roadmaps to acquire new customers, gain share, and enter new attractive markets, such as new products
  • Define customer-facing roles and accountabilities matched to the customer life cycle to provide a value-driven customer-centric market coverage that provide a best in class customer experience and competitive advantage
  • Collaborates with the business to develop customer pricing and product strategies, and manage sales channel conflict. Communicates this effectively with the department
  • Works with Sales Managers to analyze trends and potential within existing and new markets
  • Creates strategies surrounding new customer development
  • Personally develops the relationship with executives of major customers, understanding intimately the business model and transactions
  • Provide leadership to the sales organization's management team, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high performance, and integrity
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Bachelor's Degree in Business or Related field

Experience Requirements

  • Cross functional leaership influence combined with the ability to develop, motivate and manane a sales team of qualified and accountable professionals
  • Experience in improving productivity, profitability, and business processes to promote profitable growth
  • Change leadership experience
  • Prior experience3 in key account management in a B2B environment requiring senior level contact and high levels of innovation, quality, and service
  • A command of structuring and negotiating major account and distributor contracts
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to balance top-line growth to meet profitability and working capital goals
  • The professional present and credibility to function effectively both internally as well as at the highest level of customer contacts and, when necessary, the Board of Directors
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in sales or related field
  • Minimum five years of people management experience
