ExxonMobil’s Payroll function is responsible for providing timely and accurate pay and payroll services using secure, controlled and efficient processes to meet customer and business needs. Our cyclical activities are running in three separate but interdependent work streams in the area of payroll operation, payroll accounting and vendor management. The Payroll colleagues’ work is enriched by a variety of projects and change management initiatives within local and global payroll networks through which our staff can deepen the acumen of their subject matter, their digital and data analytics literacy and other soft or technical skills.



Payroll Operation activities in general include:

  • Process / input data that impact payroll timely and accurately
  • Process payroll activities for employees and ensure timely and accurate transfer of funds to banks
  • Work with Payroll Vendor and IT Support Team to resolve system configuration problems and issues
  • Work with HR, Law, Tax and external consultants to ensure compliance and effective management of change
  • Prepare & Distribute Payroll Calendars
  • Operate and review the payroll process in collaboration with a Payroll Service Provider
  • Management of Change coordination for Payroll System and Time Attendance System changes

Payroll Accounting activities in general include:

  • End-to-end HR Accounting activities in SAP as part of the Europe-Africa-Middle East payroll team that supports over 30 countries
  • No Actual Gross-to-Net calculations (or payroll preparation services) are required
  • Maintain assigned accounts and reconcile balance sheet in a timely, accurate and compliant matter
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of 3rd party payments
  • Ensure accurate and timely intercompany billing
  • Perform proper journal vouchers or accrual journal input to General Ledger
  • Fulfill all reporting requirements from management, Controllers, government authorities and vendors
  • Participation in system and process enhancement projects


Both Operations and Accounting activities include in general:

  • Great variety of tasks, many projects, problem solving and issue resolution day-to-day. Change management focus, exposure to legal, tax and financial issues, as well as strong collaboration with Payroll vendors
  • Being part of global and local payroll networks to execute continuous improvement initiatives
  • Join our Digital Innovation Program and drive digital innovation with involvement in exciting process transformation and improvement initiatives
  • Participate in our Financial & Accounting Training program to further master related skills
  • Participate in various site wide initiatives, including charity efforts, inclusion & diversity events, or networks to develop and grow your leadership skills




  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Bachelor/Master degree (or pending degree with only the final exam outstanding) in Finance & Accounting, Economics, Business or equivalent
  • Relevant work experience in project & change management or payroll transformation is an advantage, but not required
  • Strong, proven understanding of the fundamentals and underlying logic of accounting is an advantage, but not required
  • Fluent English knowledge is a must, strong command of other languages (particularly French, German, Dutch, Czech, Turkish, Portugese) is an advantage
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Precision and attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Can-do attitude, willingness to take initiative and seek challenges
  • Ability to influence others and work in a team environment
  • Good communication, collaboration, and coordination skills
  • Interest in digital innovation and continuous improvement
  • Motivation to learn and grow, to progress your career and expand your responsibilities
