Working in the Operations Support group, you will support all areas of Distribution: Engineering, Maintenance, Operations and Trucking, to help ensure the safe and reliable operations of our national terminal network.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Writing and updating technical operating procedures at the site level
  • Maintaining our major project calendar, across 13 individual sites and 3 different functional groups, and making recommendations for scheduling decisions based on resource demands and constraints
  • Interpret legal and regulatory requirements, relating to safety, operations, and technical requirements
  • Rebuild Distribution’s existing Contractor site orientation process to drive onsite contractor safety and regulatory compliance
  • Support the roll-out new Field-Level Risk Assessment program across our 13 sites, develop a tracking and reporting process, collect and interpret information from the new program, identify gaps, and make recommendations on opportunities for improvement

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering degree program at an accredited post-secondary institution , and returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Attach your transcripts with your application and clearly indicate the length of work term for which you are available

Preference for:

  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong collaboration skills: you work with others and leverage their knowledge in order to find solutions and achieve results
  • Possess a questioning attitude to surface problems: you constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Downstream head office in Mississauga, located at 2489 North Sheridan Way
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This is a 8-12 month work term, from May 2020 to December 2020
