About Billings Refinery

The Billings refinery is located in Lockwood, Montana – a suburb of Billings, the energy, health care and financing hub of Montana.The Billings refinery is a key supplier of refined petroleum products to the Northern Plains states.  Completed in 1949, the Billings refinery employs about 320 people and has 80-100 contractors on site. The refinery has a capacity to process 60,000 barrels of crude oil a day, which amounts to about 400 million gallons of gasoline and 200 million gallons of diesel per year.

What role you will play in our team

We are looking for a Multicraft/Metals Planner to provide maintenance planning support at the Billings refinery in Billings, Montana. 

What you will do

• Generate safe, prepared, and executable mechanical plans. Scope of work to include but not limited to piping, valves, heat exchangers, vessels, insulation, scaffold, and winterization/steam/utilities
• Responsible for estimating hours, resources, & materials
• Responsible for creating Purchase Requisitions and following through to Purchase Order issuance
• Responsible for assisting execution of maintenance activities to achieve desired business targets and impacts related to changes
• Responsible for responding to adhoc requests from site leadership
• Responsible for driving and promoting efficiencies in maintenance

About you

We are looking for someone who has a strong refinery maintenance background and has the following qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in Routine Maintenance environments
• Strong influencing, consulting, analytical, and computing skills
• Adaptability to changing priorities, ability to multitask and respond to urgent requests
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing
• Key competencies include initiative, innovation, concern for effectiveness, a drive for continuous improvement and flexibility
• Ability to work Monday through Thursday “4 x 10” schedule. Ability to support some instances of off-hours and weekend work is expected

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• Strong preference for expert skill level in SAP
• Demonstrated knowledge and work experience in a refinery (a minimum of five years is preferred)
