Wood has an immediate requirement for a Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join our Asset Integrity team based in Kuala Lumpur.

The team specialises in asset integrity engineering and provides consultant services to multiple clients across a range of projects. Due to local requirements, we are only considering applications from Malaysian citizens.  

Responsibilities

  • Undertake corrosion modelling.
  • Materials selection of hydrocarbon carrying piping and static equipment.
  • Perform RBI systemizing, circuitizing and develop inspection plans.
  • Carry out and rerun RBI studies.
  • Collect the results of intrusive and non-intrusive inspections and update the inspection database and modify inspection schedule based on RBI methodology for the future inspection. Upload the inspection program and activities in the relevant CMMS.
  • Prepare RBI reports.
  • Develop integrity processes and procedures in order to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the asset integrity strategy.
  • Evaluate asset information to determine hazards, failure modes and risk mitigations.
  • Ensure the asset integrity strategy is in compliance with Legislation, Facilities Safety Case and corporate regulations and guidance.
  • Handle all issues, which have a potential to impact asset integrity, including equipment / hardware, process / procedures, operational business systems, verification / assurance and personnel competency.



Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Materials Engineering.
  • NACE certified Corrosion Technologist would be advantageous. 
  • 5 years material engineering related experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Experience with corrosion modelling software packages.
  • Experience with population of database in RBI software package(s).
  • Knowledge in material degradation mechanisms.
  • Experience in the establishment of  RBI methodologies. 
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel & Access and proprietary corrosion modelling/ RBI software is essential.
  • Ability to write reports with a high attention to detail is important.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of safety and risk policies.
