Qualifications

Academic:

• Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering or related fields. Other accountabilities involve continuous improvement to current work practices and ensuring alignment across functions through appropriate change management and communication processes. As well as producing high standard technical deliverables and providing recommendations in various functions across the organization.  A successful candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize work. The ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines within both Mine Technical and Mine Operations is required. Prior knowledge of Deswik will be an asset.  

Other:

• Minimum of 5 years surface mine experience is required, including but not limited to; mine operations support and execution planning, modeling and design, material balances and mine scheduling, haulage optimization, civil projects, dewatering and tailings. 
• Must demonstrate safety leadership.
• Previous field experience in active mine operations is an asset. 
• Must be willing to work remotely on rotation in a fly in/out operations (14 days on shift and 14 days off shift); camp provided, air travel provided from Calgary or Edmonton or bus transportation from Fort McMurray.
• Ability to use or learn Deswik or other Mine Planning Software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• This position will be a full time fly-in, fly-out camp based role to the Kearl site with a 14 days on/14 days off work schedule. Bussing is available from Fort McMurray, and flights are available from either Calgary or Edmonton. Relocation assistance to Fort McMurray, Calgary or Edmonton is available if required. Bus transportation is also available to Kearl site from Fort McMurray at the beginning and end of each shift rotation for Fort McMurray residents
• Kearl operations will provide safe, secure and quiet accommodation near to the worksite for employees working on rotating work schedules. Facilities include a private room/washroom for each employee.

Eligibility to work in Canada
