The Role

We’re seeking an IT Applications Co-op Student to join our IT – Business Applications team. Reporting to the Manager, Application Services, Analytics & Business Engagement, you´ll be working with a team of dedicated employees across North America.

During your work term, we will push you to be your best by exposing you to challenging projects and giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your work term. You will gain practical experience, develop technical skills to complement your academic learning, and gain exposure to future opportunities at our company. To succeed, you’ll need to cultivate and communicate a clear vision and set goals for yourself, whilst also juggling individual country specific targets.

The IT Applications Co-op student will provide software application support during their work term. This will include various vendor applications supporting our North American business.

Some of the key responsibilities of the IT Applications Co-op Student will be:

  • Providing day to day support for a variety of 3rd party vendor software applications used by various business groups including Oil Sands, HR, Legal, Audit, etc.;
  • Investigate and debug issues reported by the business;
  • Perform routine maintenance and administration on supported applications;
  • Modify and/or build customization's in some applications;
  • Maintain support documentation;
  • Deploy patches and enhancements, following standard change management procedures.

To be eligible for our co-op student program, you must be enrolled in a co-op/internship program sponsored by an accredited post-secondary institution.

  • Strong computer applications knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Previous oil and gas experience an asset.
