Overview

The Transmission Business Unit (TBU), part of Pembina's Pipeline Division has transmission pipeline assets that have been developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas and specification ethane transportation infrastructure assets. These assets are positioned in some of the most prolific gas producing regions in western Canada and the United States. Pembina's primary long-haul transmission pipeline assets include the Vantage Pipeline, AEGS, Alliance Pipeline and Ruby Pipeline.


TBU is currenting recruiting for a Senior Contracts Analyst, to join the team. The successful candidate will work directly with cross-functional teams throughout the TBU and Pembina organization.


Summary of Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Work closely with Commercial Services and Legal teams to structure, draft, and amend multiple types of agreements for customers on multiple pipeline assets;
  • Applying analytical and problem-solving skills in addressing a variety of contract opportunities and application of regulatory requirements;
  • Develop and apply strong understanding of multiple regulatory regimes, infrastructure assets, and petroleum products including natural gas, NGL’s, fuels, etc;
  • Develop and foster strong working relationships with key people and teams at our joint venture partner in order to improve contracting efficiency and regulatory compliance;
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a contracts database or other data system solution for multiple types of contracts;
  • Ensure compliance with transportation tariffs and other regulatory requirements;
  • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team comprised commercial services reps, legal, regulatory, counterparty risk, accounting, and our joint venture partner;
  • Identify opportunities for process efficiency gain and automation, and actively lead implementation of those solutions, working collaboratively with Information Technology experts as required;
  • Perform and support regularly occurring (monthly, quarterly, annual) customer contract and regulatory related processes; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.


Qualifications

  • Business, or Legal degree (or a combination of other relevant 4-year degree and practical experience);
  • Minimum 10 + years related industry experience;
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external parties up to and including the Senior Executive level;
  • Strong analytical skills with solid business acumen, particularly relating to legal documents and legal/regulatory application to commercial business;
  • Direct commercial contract negotiation or commercial contract analysis experience;
  • Solid knowledge of North American Hydrocarbon transportation systems and markets;
  • Proven ability to establish strong internal and external relationships;
  • Experience in contract preparation, analysis and execution;
  • Ability to manage a variety of priorities including regularly scheduled and recurring priorities along with ad hoc priorities;
  • Energetic, resilient, collaborative and goal-oriented; and
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
