About This Opportunity:
We have an immediate opportunity for a Contract Operator in Grande Prairie (Wapiti/Kakwa area). In this role, your primary responsibility will be to effectively participate as a team member in operating and maintaining our gas wells and facilities. The operations team ensures the maximum performance of mechanical, instrumentation and facilities while managing the day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines, multi-well batteries, field booster compressors and sweet gas facilities.
This role is a 12-month contract position, with a rotational schedule of eight days on, six days off, 10 hours per day based in Wapiti.

Assist the operations team in managing the day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines, multi-well batteries and gas compression facilities
Monitoring and maintenance of the well and facilities

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
This position is safety-sensitive and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment testing
Minimum of 3+ years of oilfield experience in an operations or maintenance role
Possess a disciplined work ethic, self-motivated and strong desire to contribute
Solid field/plant operating or maintenance background
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Well-developed communication skills
Ability to work within a team environment
Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s license (drivers abstract is required)
First Aid, CPR, TDG, WHMIS and H2S certifications
Proficient in M.S. Office Suite
