Aker Solutions' Business Integrity & Complaince (BIC) based in Kuala Lumpur, implements in all aspect of the business intergity and compliance process within the designated geographical area supporting Delivery Centres and functions. We need a talented and experienced individual who can strengthen our BIC team and support our ambitious growth plans within the APAC market. We are looking for a Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities and Tasks


  • Actively support operational personnel with business integrity and compliance strategic direction, advice and training.
  • Ensure that national regulatory changes and its implications for Aker Solutions’ business integrity processes are proactively monitored and assessed, and that changes are communicated to relevant stakeholders
  • On request from the Compliance manager, DCCO or Corporate BIC facilitate and perform business integrity compliance testing (e.g. annual self-assessment, audits and reviews), assess vulnerability/exposure, follow up on identified weaknesses and suggest implementation of new controls and changes in existing controls where appropriate.
  • Monitor and follow up on areas of non-compliance and ensure progress on corrective measures and improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate implementation of Code of Conduct and supporting policies, procedures and tools, including changes in such documents.
  • Facilitate and perform compliance training to new and existing employees in accordance with Aker Solutions’ Business Ethics training procedure.
  • Facilitate and support compliance activities such as awareness campaigns, business integrity compliance surveys etc. within DC's or Functions in collaboration with Corporate BIC and other functions.
  • Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, Code of Conduct, policies and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative activities, coordinated by Corporate BIC. Assist Compliance Manager in internal investigations.
  • Perform analysis, aggregate information and prepare input to management reports / presentations on status of company compliance activities on request from Compliance Manager, local management, DCCO or corporate BIC
  • Assist Compliance manager within the general area of responsibility for the BIC function

Qualifications and Personal Qualities


  • Degree or its equivalent in economics, politics, accounting, auditing, business, law or other relevant higher education, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of relevant code of conduct, business integrity / ethics, compliance experience preferably in an international / multinational environment, including but not limited to drafting policies, training, auditing and investigations
  • Recognizable personal integrity
  • Good knowledge of local legislation relevant to scope of work.
  • Knowledge of global laws, regulations and international standards including, but not limited to the following areas: Corruption, Data Privacy, Corporate Responsibility, Human Rights and preferably also Export control, international sanctions and money laundering
  • Understanding of and experience with investigative/audit methods
  • Excellent oral and written language skills (English minimum, preferably also local language)
  • Collaborative attitude, good listening and communications skills
  • Takes initiative, acts with confidence and works under little supervision.
  • Sets high quality standards, and works in an efficient, systematic, methodical and orderly way.
  • Makes presentations and undertakes public speaking with skill and confidence.
  • Expresses opinions, information and key points of an argument clearly.
