Basic Function

Aqseptence Group, Johnson Screens, is a manufacturer of specialty screening technology used in a variety of industries: Oil and Gas, Food and Beverage, Mining, Architectural, Water Treatment and Water Well. With a history of more than 100 years in business, we are seeking a Business Development Manager to support our Oil and Gas Downstream market for USA and Canadian Refineries, Petrochemical Plants and Gas Processing facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating leads, issuing offers, providing the VoC, generating $5M+ in annual sales and provide business development acumen to increase product and service offerings.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Forecast upcoming sales and achieve sales targets
  • Interact closely with clients developing opportunities to support clients through existing and new products and services
  • Develop accounts to create new sales opportunities
  • Seek and develop new accounts to increase sales volumes
  • Follow up all opportunities within given territory and accounts
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts across the client organization
  • Communicate range of product and service offerings to clients
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of market drivers and customer business processes.
  • Facilitate customer inquiries and coordinate them with Inside Sales, Engineering, Operations, and other departments.
  • Conduct technical solution presentations to key and target accounts.
  • Provide regular, accurate sales forecasting.
  • Able to understand customer problem and support the development of solutions.
  • Profitably acquire new customers.
  • Facilitate Voice-of-the-Customer sessions.
  • Collaborate with external Engineers and Consultants to specify our products.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of competitor strengths and weaknesses.
  • Gather and analyze customer, market, and competitive intelligence.
  • Develop presentation materials and technical papers.
  • Participate with Sales Managers in industry or trade show presentations.
  • Assist in the development of customer and market research studies.
  • Facilitate the collection of new product ideas from other Sales Representatives.
  • Understand and comply with all HSE, Compliance and other Company Policies.
  • Must know Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and technical procedures and work instructions as it applies to the position.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager within the physical constraints of the position.

Required Skills

  • 4-year college degree, preferably in an engineering discipline, or business degree with relevant work experience
  • 5-7 years of industry experience preferred, sales experience a plus
  • Experience in Downstream Oil and Gas Industry: Refining, Petrochemical, Mid-Stream Gas Processing a plus
  • Experience in B2B project execution, sales and business
  • Experience and familiarity with custom manufactured equipment
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent use of time and effective use of resources
  • Excellent customer follow-up and responsiveness skills
  • Ability to work independently or on a team
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent understanding of technical concepts
  • Experience in contract negotiations, a plus
  • Experience in strategic planning, a plus
  • Sales Force experience or similar CRM tools, a plus
  • Self-motivated with a high drive for success
  • Competitive with a can-do attitude
  • Able to develop solutions to complex or ambiguous business problems.
  • Extensive experience with MS Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
