Business Development Manager - Bushings

Raleigh, NC

The Bushing Team is responsible for the sale of high voltage transmission products. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join the team. This person will be expected to have market intelligence as well as sales and project execution experience with the Power Utilities Business, while driving excellence in relationships and business plans in order to drive business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain competitive information profile of our competitors

  • Help developing pricing policies
  • Identify new markets and customers by performing market research
  • Obtain product approval and launch new products
  • Participate at exhibitions and seminars for the industry
  • Increase market share while achieving higher profitability
  • Build excellent customer relationships and drive customer satisfaction
  • Utilize Team Approach to Support and Grow Existing Business
  • Actively Participate in Account Management Efforts
  • Influence and Contribute to Specification Revision
  • Actively Participate in Support of New Business
  • Engage Field Sales and Customers to Solicit Engineering Approvals
  • Provide Technical Support and Training to Field Sales and Customers
  • Specify Products for Desired Applications
  • Create a List of Targets to Pursue and have a “hunter” mentality to win their business
  • Collect Market Research and Competitive Feedback
  • Track Targeting and Approval Efforts

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Engineering, or similar

  • Minimum 8 + years of technical proficiency in the Power Industry
  • Sales/Marketing experience
  • Understanding of the function and application of transformer bushings
  • Willingness to travel up to 40-50% travel
  • Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Electrical Engineering Degree

  • Minimum 10 years of technical proficiency in the Power Industry
  • Business development and/or Sales & Marketing experience
  • Specific knowledge and/or expertise in the application of transformer bushings
  • 40-50% travel
